Subsystem: cAMP signaling in bacteria

This subsystem's description is:

This SS combines two major functions related to cAMP metabolism- adenylate kinase (AC) and phosphodiesterase (PDE). The other functions present in this SS are auxiliary to the process of cAMP degradation or biosynthesis but presumably functionally coupled to cAMP metabolism as there genes clustering to one or another cAMP metabolic genes is highly conservative across different phyla. We are keeping all these functions in one SS for future reference and further investigation.
