Subsystem: Cold shock, CspA family of proteins
This subsystem's description is:
A group of related proteins that are induced in response to temperature downshifts, enabling cells to adapt to cold temperatures. The number of csp genes per bacterial genome is highly diverse; during the duplication of the cspA family genes, they acquired different specificities of responding to temperature changes.
